Intellectual Property Policy

1. Overview

This Intellectual Property (IP) Policy outlines the ownership, licensing, and usage rights of intellectual property created or used by Startup IT Solution Infotech Pvt Ltd in the course of providing services to clients.

2. Client-Owned IP

All custom work created specifically for a client — including source code, designs, documentation, and deliverables — becomes the client's intellectual property upon full payment of all applicable fees. The client receives full ownership rights.

3. Startup IT-Owned IP

Startup IT Solution retains ownership of the following:

  • Pre-existing frameworks, libraries, and codebases developed before or independently of the client project.
  • Generic tools, utilities, and components developed during the project that are not specific to the client.
  • Internal methodologies, processes, and know-how.
  • The Startup IT Solution brand, logo, and marketing materials.

4. Licensing of Startup IT IP

Where Startup IT-owned IP is included in client deliverables, the client receives a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, modify, and distribute such IP as part of their custom solution.

5. Third-Party IP

Any third-party software, libraries, or assets used in deliverables are subject to their respective licenses (e.g., MIT, GPL, Apache). We ensure all third-party licenses are compatible with the intended use and provide attribution where required.

6. Open Source Contributions

We may contribute generic, non-client-specific code to open source projects. No client confidential or proprietary code is ever included in open source contributions.

7. Portfolio Rights

Unless otherwise agreed, Startup IT Solution retains the right to display completed work in our portfolio and marketing materials. Clients may opt out by requesting in writing.
